Job Description
Under the direction of the Laboratory Director is responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, operational and maintenance aspects of the various Information Technology (IT) systems in use by the Clinical Laboratory. This position will work in close coordination with The Christ Hospital IT hardware, software application, and IT security teams.
Responsibilities
Ensures all LIS systems and interfaces (inbound and outbound) are maintained as expected. Works with the lab team, hospital team and appropriate vendors to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Support build and operations of the laboratory information systems (Laboratory, Blood bank, POC, Hospital, and Reference) including hardware and software maintenance, review and distribution of reports, and ordering of computer related supplies.
Ensure IT related policies, procedures and documentation records are maintained in accordance with regulatory guidelines (e.g. CAP, CLIA & Joint Commission requirements).
Support Laboratory and Customer Service issues related to the LIS: Printer issues, Error queues, Test/Method and Physician table build in LIS, and daily maintenance tasks as assigned.
Provide support, including software and hardware maintenance, of the surgical pathology IT and dictation system
Generate management reports and data from all software as necessary.
Provide support to the TCH IT teams on interdisciplinary projects involving laboratory component
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical or physical or biological science
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory required. Previous experience within information technology functional area preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of laboratory operations; familiarity with laboratory departments, functions and processes; business analytical and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS &/or CERTIFICATIONS:
MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent
