Employee Health and Wellness Nurse-RN

Job Description

The position is responsible for performing nursing and operational functions of Team Member Health & Wellbeing in our Wellness Center. Primary duties involve performing biometric screenings for Know Your Numbers program, administering influenza vaccines, performing respirator fit tests and related wellness programming (annual health fair, fitness, nutrition, financial and mental health programs). Provides health coaching for team members. May cross train into MOB 234 occupational health and safety and MOB 232 Walk-in clinic. Adhere to the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

Participate in annual flu compliance programs. Provides annual respirator training



Obtain blood samples for biometric screening



Provide health coaching for team members. Maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with employee health information.



Establish positive relationship with team members, encouraging selection of primary care physician, if none indicated. Review services of Team Member Health & Wellbeing

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Minimum of Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelors' degree in Nursing preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5 yrs experience in medical-surgical nursing, emergency, occupational health or employee health;

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have technical competence and professional clinical judgment. Excellent physical assessment skills. Nursing diagnostic ability. Must be able to work alone without other medical resources immediately available. Knowledge of OSHA, CDC and Ohio Department of Health regulations; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Must have the ability to communicate, counsel and educate effectively.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:



Registered Nurse in Ohio required. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN-S) preferred.
