IT Disaster Recovery Program Lead - IT Infrastructure - CBO - Full-Time - Days

Job Description

The IT Disaster Recovery Program Lead is accountable for enterprise-wide IT disaster recovery planning, governance, testing, readiness, and recovery oversight across The Christ Hospital Health Network. This role establishes DR standards, recovery strategies, testing disciplines, and remediation governance to ensure critical technology services can be restored within defined recovery objectives during cyber incidents, infrastructure failures, and other major disruptions. This individual will also enhance ITIL processes and procedures (EG. Incident, Problem, Change) and ensure that technical process documentation is created and maintained for enterprise services. This role will lead cross-functional efforts to identify critical systems, define recovery objectives, and coordinate testing and validation of DR plans. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, project management skills, and experience in risk mitigation within complex IT environments.

Responsibilities

Disaster Recovery

  • Program Leadership:

    • Coordinate with business continuity leadership to align IT DR with enterprise downtime and continuity priorities
    • Own and evolve the IT enterprise Disaster Recovery strategy, framework, and roadmap and understand their interdependencies ensuring alignment with business continuity objectives.
    • Establish governance, policies, and standards for DR planning and execution.




  • Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and maintain DR strategies for critical IT systems and infrastructure to address cybersecurity and other disaster events.
    • Define IT DR standards including policies, runbooks, and recovery objectives (RTO/RPO)
    • Ensure alignment between cyber recovery, backup strategy, infrastructure recovery, and application recovery
    • Establish and maintain the enterprise IT service recovery tiering model
  • Risk Assessment & Compliance:

    • Track and escalate recovery gaps, risks, and remediation plans
    • Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and prioritize recovery efforts.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).




  • Testing & Validation:

    • Own the annual DR test calendar and executive reporting
    • Plan and coordinate efforts for executing regular DR drills and simulations to validate recovery capabilities.
    • Document/Publish test results, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
    • Lead post-incident and post-exercise corrective action governance
  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Partner with TCHHN technology teams, business units, and vendors to ensure DR readiness and ensure all requirements are met.
    • Provide training and awareness programs for stakeholders on DR processes.




  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Monitor emerging technologies and trends to enhance DR capabilities.
    • Maintain documentation and update DR plans as systems and business needs evolve.
    • Drive continuous improvement based on test results, incidents, and business changes


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred) or equivalent practical experience.




  • Experience:

    • 7+ years in IT infrastructure or operations, with at least 3 years in disaster recovery or business continuity roles.
    • Proven experience leading DR programs in large, complex environments.
    • Experience with healthcare environments, coordinating with cybersecurity teams on ransomware, cyber recovery, and data restoration scenarios.
    • Experience presenting / meeting with executive leadership, system owners, and cross-functional governance groups.
    • Experience with third-party/vendor recovery dependencies, including review of vendor DR capabilities and contractual recovery commitments.




  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of DR technologies (backup, replication, cloud recovery).
    • Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL, ISO 22301, and NIST.
    • Excellent project management and communication skills.




  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
    • ITIL Foundation
    • PMP or equivalent
