Responsible for performing various graded exercise testing/cardiovascular and pharmacological studies. Thorough knowledge of graded exercise testing and exercise prescription are necessary. Performs TEE, Cardioversions, CT Biopsies, Paracentesis, Administering Image Enhancing agents and assists with pacemaker patients in MRI. Works in collaboration with cardiologist, radiologist, nuclear medicine, echocardiology and the clinical staff.

Responsibilities

Here's how you'll deliver best-in-class care:

Responsible for performing various graded exercise testing/cardiovascular and pharmacological studies. Thorough knowledge of graded exercise testing and exercise prescription are necessary. Performs TEE, Cardioversions, CT Biopsies, Paracentesis, and assists with pacemaker patients in MRI. Works in collaboration with cardiologist, radiologist, nuclear medicine, echocardiology and the clinical staff.

1. Responsible for supervising GXT's. and Stress Echoes. Assures patient safety, assesses patients condition, before, during and after procedure.

a. Complete assessment of patient history, allergies and current status prior to testing.

b. Explains test to patient thoroughly, answering any questions or seeking additional information when needed.

c. Checks vital signs per protocol.

d. Terminates test at appropriate time according to established criteria.

e. Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate measures.

f. Communicates patient status with physician as appropriate.

g. Assures all documentation is complete.

h. Completes Begin and end exam including appropriate charges in Epic.

2. Responsible for assisting Cardiologist with TEE's , Cardioversions & assists Radiologists with CTA's and CT biopsies.

Assures patient safety, assesses patients condition before, during and after procedure.

a. Completes thorough assessment of patient history, allergies and current status prior to testing.

b. Explains test to patient thoroughly, answering any questions or seeking additional information when needed.

c. Checks vital signs per protocol and monitors EtCo2 assuring adequate respiratory status when needed.

d. Administers conscious sedation per MD order when needed.

e. Recovers patient to baseline status.

f. Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate measures.

g. Assures all documentation is complete.

h. Completes Begin and end exam; making sure appropriate charges are entered in Epic

3. Administers Contrast for enhanced echo imaging per MD order as necessary. Assures patient safety, assesses patients condition, before, during and after procedure as necessary. Assures patient safety, assesses patients condition, before, during and after procedure.

a. Completes thorough assessment of patient history, allergies and current status prior to testing.

b. Checks for contraindications and explains test thoroughly.

c. Checks vital signs per protocol.

d. Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate measures.

e. Communicates patient status with physician as appropriate.

f. Assures all documentation is complete.

4. Responsible for organizing flow of lab.

a. Facilitates patient movement through lab to obtain desired outcome.

b. Has necessary supplies ready for each test.

c. Demonstrates flexibility to meet lab need

  • Leadership & Professional Development - Working closely with your Clinical Manager, you will take an active role in driving improvement and achieving better outcomes through the development and evaluation of Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives. You'll be an advocate for High Reliability principles to enhance patient care and operational efficiency while using data to fuel progress. You'll also demonstrate your leadership skills by motivating, educating, delegating, and mentoring peers and team members, while managing patient care effectively.


Qualifications

Here are your additional requirements:

  • Documentation - You'll accurately and concisely document the nursing process in the patient's electronic medical record, reflecting the implemented plan of care by the patient, family, and healthcare team. You'll also ensure timely documentation of care, updates, education, and the patient's and family's responses, in line with hospital policy.
  • Team Member Responsibilities - As a healthcare team member, your responsibilities will include adhering to all organizational and department policies, completing required training, meeting all educational requirements while demonstrating your commitment to continuous learning and providing the legendary patient care The Christ Hospital Health Network is known for over the last 130 years.


Licenses & Certifications

  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • BLS required before patient contact.
  • ACLS required.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experienced, Critical Care preferred.
