Advanced Practice Provider - Palliative Care (PRN)

Shift: PRN, Weekends

Location: This position will be located at The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN) main campus, 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Position Description: This APP will serve as a Palliative Care PRN

Job Overview: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) may be an APRN (NP or CNS) or PA, that has been prepared with the appropriate graduate level education and authorized to practice and prescribe as such. The schedule will primarily be working in-person shifts on weekdays when there is limited coverage due to other APPs and physicians out on leave. Ideally, available at least one day per week.

At least 2 years of experience in palliative care is preferred. Although not required, a candidate with experience in oncology, heart and vascular, geriatrics, ICU and acute care is desired.

Education: Graduate from accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

License/Certification:

  • DEA license




  • BLS certified (required)




  • ACHPN certified or CAQ in Palliative Medicine (preferred but not required)




  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Acute, Adult, Adult-Gero or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification, or Clinical Nurse Specialist certification verified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other recognized certified body. Current, valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state board.

Physician Assistant: Graduate from accredited physician assistant program with a Master's Degree Physician Assistant Certification (verified by the National Commission or the Certification of Physician Assistant - NCCPA. Current, valid license (registration) by the state Medical Board of Ohio or applicable state medical board. Current Certificate to prescribe by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
