Clinical Laboratory Technician - Inventory

Job Description

Performs routine laboratory inventory duties and support functions in the testing area. Assigned duties are limited by the experience the individual brings to the job and specific training protocols completed.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain departmental supply ordering and inventory processes to prevent shortages and overstocking. Including finding alternative items when the requested are out of stock.

Enters orders using the appropriate IT system and works with vendors to obtain quotes and track shipping. Includes ensuring that appropriate items for outpatient/outreach are available for order.

Assists with the unpacking and storage of laboratory supplies upon receipt in the laboratory.

Coordination transport of supplies the need to be sent to different locations.

Assisting outpatient and outreach locations in where to find or order appropriate supplies.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required;

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 0

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Prior experience is preferred.
