DIRECTOR, AMBULATORY OPERATIONS - Full Time - Days

Job Description

• In support of TCHP leadership and reporting to the Executive Director, Primary Care and Ambulatory Operations, the Director (ED) will lead the execution all short and long range operational planning for the continued growth of our primary care network and primary care/ambulatory outpatient center (AOC) operations for the Network.

• Provide leadership to all primary care and AOC initiatives for their assigned region in coordination with the Medial Director and Executive Director as identified in the TCHHN Strategic Plan. The Director will oversee the effective implementation of a structure to carry out organizational initiatives and evaluate the outcomes. Responsible for collaborating with support departments in the development of capital and operating budgets for the AOC in their region.

• In collaboration with the Executive Director and Hospital based service leaders the Director will develop structures and processes that ensure effective primary care and AOC daily operations that coordinate patient care through alignment of staff, physicians and ancillary departments. Provide leadership to Practice Managers to direct day to day operations, identify improvement opportunities, monitor success, and provide professional development.

• Oversee coordination of all AOC operations for their assigned region in collaboration with specialty practice and hospital leadership. Ensure that the AOC operations are efficient and effective and meet the needs of the practices within the building. Manage space utilization and allocation, improve vertical integration in the market, and coordinate daily operations and staffing to ensure operational efficiency.

• Facilitate communication between Physicians and the TCHP Executive team to address physician concerns, assist in developing, implementing and managing operational initiatives, and ensure alignment with TCHP and TCH strategy.

Responsibilities

Oversee the operations and financial performance of the primary care offices and AOC operations in their region.

Oversee operating margin performance of their assigned practices including develop capital, operating and cash flow budgets, monitor compliance and take appropriate corrective action to mitigate variances.

Coach, Mentor and provide guidance directly to management of their assigned offices. Evaluate performance and provide meaningful feedback. Identify development opportunities in alignment with TCHHN Talent Management methodology.

Oversee performance of their assigned AOCs efficiencies.

Develop a structure to achieve targeted efficient and effective performance.

Work cooperatively the TCHP Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure the success of the revenue cycle: scheduling, registration, precertification, point of service collections, and charge entry.

Work collaboratively across TCHP to integrate scheduling practices to create a more seamless and coordinated patient experience.

Responsible for development of strategies to enhance patient experience of their division to improve the overall experience for our patients. Create processes that allow for patients to seamlessly access needed services and referrals throughout TCHHN to maximize patient experience and provider satisfaction.

Collaborate with TCHP and TCH Managers and Directors to provide leadership on the operations of new physician practice transitions. Continually assess acquisition activities to ensure newly acquired entities have necessary resources and support services required for maximum operational efficiencies.

Ensure physician practice compliance with all operational, HR and regulatory policies, procedures and requirements.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree Preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: At least 10 years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment, preferably with at least half of the experience with significant physician practice management experience or ambulatory operation experience in a similar scale organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting healthcare delivery including but not limited to; Stark, OIG, Medicare, and IRS regulations

• Strong organizational skills leading a combination of direct and dotted line reporting relationships. Exhibits strong, collaborative leadership qualities.
