Ambulatory Quality Management Services Director - CBO TCHP Ambulatory Quality - Full Time - Days

Job Description

This position provides Director-level leadership in the design, implementation and oversight of an integrated and comprehensive performance improvement program. The scope of the program encompasses efforts pertaining to quality/evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance inclusive of TCHHN Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and value-based care (VBC) contracts, system safety/reliability, clinical intelligence, care efficiency and patient/family centered experience. This position is responsible to advance and sustain a culture of safety, transparency, measurement, and accountability to achieve superior outcomes.

Responsibilities

DEPARTMENTAL LEADERSHIP

  • Provides Director-level oversight and management for quality performance in ACO and VBC contracts, OSHA program, Patient Safety program, Clinical Onboarding and Annual Competency program, Peer Review program.
  • Responsible for the achievement of departmental objectives and goals as determined by the Executive Director, Population Health and Value-Based Care
  • Serves as a resource to ambulatory (primary care and specialty) office teams and providers and their leadership


QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

  • Applies key concepts and theories (human factors engineering, organizational behavior, reliability science, LEAN) in the design and approach to performance improvement
  • Defines, facilitates and evaluates standard work, evidence-based/industry practices and measurement methodologies
  • Leads care innovation and care transformation improvement initiatives
  • Initiates and facilitates systems and processes to achieve superior outcomes in quality, safety, service, efficiency and performance
  • Drives achievement of strategic quality initiatives as determined by executive leadership
  • Serves as a resource in system-wide efforts to advance a patient-centered culture and achievement of service excellence
  • Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with the medical staff, system/entity leadership, external agencies, partnership organizations and payers
  • Educates and supports executive and entity leadership, medical staff and Board of Trustees regarding national trends/priorities, changes in regulations and other factors influencing the direction of quality, safety and accreditation

  • Leads efforts to advance the integration of services across the ambulatory care continuum to enhance coordination of care and services
  • Develops and facilitates quality/safety strategies to ensure optimal reimbursement for payer/employer-based contracts and pay-for-performance program thresholds/performance expectations
  • Develops and operates within departmental budget, expenses, allocations

EDUCATION:

  • RN or health-related baccalaureate degree
  • Graduate-level degree in public health/policy, health systems administration, nursing or other health-related field preferred


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading quality efforts for high


REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Conceptual and applied expertise in advanced performance improvement techniques/methodologies, organizational/change management scholarship and qualitative/quantitative measurement strategies
  • Engagement in national trends within the quality, patient safety, care coordination and accreditation realms
  • Advanced certification(s) in quality from national association(s) preferred (e.g., ASQ, NAHQ, IHI)
  • Ability to translate broad strategies into specific objectives and initiatives
  • Ability to conceptualize in unstructured, dynamic and multifaceted environments that require foresight, intuition and mature judgment
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and processes, synthesize relevant theories, principles and evidence and determine solutions challenging problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively through various medium and diverse audiences
  • Ability to facilitate teams and projects to accomplish objectives in a resourceful and timely manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to assimilate, assess and act upon new concepts/trends
  • Ability to adjusts approach to work in response to changing situations to achieve goals


LICENSES REGISTRATIONS &/or CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) preferred
  • Other Credentials Preferred: Advanced certification(s) in quality from national association(s) preferred (e.g., ASQ, NAHQ, IHI, CPHQ)
