Mechanic Technician Senior - Full Time - Days

Job Description

The Field Service Bed Technician provides advanced technical service support, troubleshooting, inspection and complex repairs for all the medical beds and stretchers and other assigned products. This position performs revenue saving activities as it pertains to Hill-Rom Support, this technician also has direct customer and patient contact and is authorized to train nursing and other hospital staff as it pertains to the Medical Beds and Stretchers in the TCHHN.

Responsibilities

Performs regular and complex repairs on the bed and stretchers. These are repairs sometimes beyond simple and minor cosmetic repairs or component replacements. Performs electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair of assigned products.

Identify potential safety issues on products and/or repair procedures and provide feedback to management team. This includes coordinating training with hospital employees and nursing staff or other specific request requirements.

Ability to utilize manufacturer service manuals and documentation to provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause and repair while working independently. Assess assigned products and prepare written estimates for repairs and order parts. Use of advanced test equipment for products assigned.

Effectively implement service; including service documentation, maintenance and calibration of test equipment and filing and record keeping systems in accordance with standard work.

Responds to service calls; analyses problems and repairs BED and Stretcher problems and may perform similar work assisting the Facilities Mechanics. Answer service calls and input and complete work orders in the POM's work order System.

Performs skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed; connects meters to control panels and panels to power sources. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems; repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (e.g. BSN required, MSN preferred.):

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. Two-year Associate Technical Degree in Engineering

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to read and comprehend technical information including but not limited to technical manuals, on-line reference materials, technical bulletins, schematics, etc. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Ability to read control diagrams. Applicable codes knowledge. Works weekends, shifts and holidays as required.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS &/or CERTIFICATIONS:

Two-year Associate Technical Degree- Engineering, Certified in welding
