MECHANIC TECHNICIAN SENIOR

Job Description

Plan and coordinates mechanics activities and preventive maintenance work request and equipment repairs. Follows standards of quality control, testing inspection of maintenance associated equipment. Provides installation and other miscellaneous services to hospital utility, structure, and hospital equipment.

Responsibilities

Directs daily maintenance activities of the for the Mechanics maintenance teams and preventive maintenance of equipment and systems. Performs regular repairs on the bed and stretchers. Monitoring work orders and all Critical PMs and motivate staff to get completed. Scheduling the preventive maintenance schedules, tasks...tagging of equipment. Collecting / filing and reviewing PMs / other reports needed for Joint Commission Troubleshoot and analyze problems with beds, and other systems such as TV and Trans-logic tube systems. Provides service and repairs for the following equipment Sterilizers, Nurse call, blanket warmers, med carts and furniture assembly.

Identify potential safety issues on products and/or repair procedures and provide feedback to management team. This includes coordinating training with hospital employees and nursing staff or other specific request requirements.

Ability to utilize manufacturer service manuals and documentation to provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause and repair while working independently. Assess assigned products and prepare written estimates for repairs and order parts. Use of advanced test equipment for products assigned.

Effectively implement service, including service documentation, maintenance and calibration of test equipment and filing and record keeping systems in accordance with standard work.

Responds to service calls; analyses problems and repairs BED and Stretcher problems and may perform similar work assisting the Facilities Mechanics. Answer service calls and input and complete work orders in the POM's work order System.Performs skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and equipment, components, timers, motors, and wiring systems as needed; connects meters to control panels and panels to power sources. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems; repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (e.g. BSN required, MSN preferred.):

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred: Two-year Associate Technical Degree in Engineering

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 4

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to read and comprehend technical information including but not limited to technical manuals, on-line reference materials, technical bulletins, schematics, etc. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Ability to read control diagrams. Applicable codes knowledge. Works weekends, shifts and holidays as required.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS &/or CERTIFICATIONS:

Preferred;Two-year Associate Technical Degree- Engineering, Certified in welding
