Respiratory Therapist - Limited Permit I - PRN

Job Description

Delivers critical and non critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and non invasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Provides respiratory care in in-patient and out patient areas. Demonstrates a high level of commitment and professionalism. Must practice within scope of practice in accordance with the licensure act.

Responsibilities

Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service. Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Performs treatments of a routine nature.

Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records.

Educates patients on their diseases state, wellness, home care modalities and safety.

Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians with regard to cardiopulmonary status.

Treatments performed as related to age specific needs.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Actively enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program or awaiting to take CRT credentialing exam.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: None

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Entry level.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

Candidate must have a current limited license to practice respiratory care issued by the state. Current BLS.
