Supervisor, Access and Admitting

Job Description

The Registration Supervisor contributes to the Christ Hospital Health Networks operations by planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining programs, policies, and management systems in all Facets of registration. Assists financial services department in maintaining an effective billing system by ensuring accurate and timely input of governmental, commercial insurance, managed Care, and workers' compensation payer information. Works closely with staff on collaborative Functions required to effectively gather information needed for billing and collection. Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the mission, vision, and values of The Christ Hospital Health Network. Monitors and assists in the development and implementation of new systems, software and training of new existing and new team members and special projects. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service and integrity. The Patient Access Supervisor will assist the Team Lead and be able to perform all Lead Access Coordinators and Access Coordinators functions.

Maintaining a collegial and cooperative relationship with other supervisors, working as a team to search out and implement efficiencies, economies, and best practices

Ensures new associate orientation and training is completed. Provides ongoing training to all associates. Monitors WQ's to ensure registration accuracy.

Provide supervision for Patient Access associates. Encompasses problem identification analysis and resolution with staff and patients. Serve as physician liaison for concerns..

Ensuring the quality and reliability of registration data system-wide. Review staff work utilizing the KPI/Quality Review Form on a weekly (or as needed) basis to ensure that scheduling and registration activities are handled appropriately. Perform and track improvement metrics, including patient liabilities and co-pay collections

Analyze patient accounts; evaluate financial data for establishment of current accounts and documents. Managing and leading all aspects of registration to enable complete, accurate, and timely hospital billing-maximizing collectable and minimizing uncollectible accounts.

Follows TCH HIPPA policies to protect patient privacy and follow Information Security policies to keep patient information secure. Understands and follows the Christ Hospital Health Network policies and procedures along with individual department guidelines. Provides patients with information about their rights and responsibilities

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

EDUCATION:

Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree or related customer service.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Three years of Patient Access/Admitting or comparable Health Care experience required with one year in supervisory/lead position

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Computer literacy skills are required and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must have excellent, communication skills to enable clear and competent interaction with employees, physicians, nursing staff, other hospital personnel, patients and their relatives. Must be decisive, flexible, organized and function well in a fast paced, stressful and sensitive environment. Should be able to deal appropriately with conflict and resolve problems with diplomacy. Should have excellent organizational and time-management skills
