TCHP PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE SENIOR

Job Description

Responsible for coordinating The Christ Hospital Physician division patient financial service department efforts. This position performs a wide variety of functions within the professional revenue cycle. In general, this position is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert within their designated area of responsibility as well as serving as a first line of communication between staff and department managers. The scope of responsibility will also include team meetings, team assignments and team building.

Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert for the staff on the processes and technical requirements of the job including answering team questions and assisting the staff with work load if necessary. Meets/exceeds departmental standards of performance related to productivity and quality.

Follow up, communicate regularly and help reply to all Administration, Coding Department and Office Managers incoming e-mails and phone calls. Act as a first line resource in the handling of escalated issues and work with the supervisor on appropriate resolution.

Oversee activities of assigned patient financial services team(s) and appropriately communicates needs to the department supervisor for resolution. Work with department supervisor to plan, delegate and organize work assignments and special projects with staff.

Work, in an on-going basis, with department manager to formulate process workflow improvement strategies.

Periodic staff meetings to assess progress/issues as well as monitor staff vacation schedule and back-up plans to assist manager with staffing strategies

Performs other job-related duties and assignments as requested.

Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects TCHHN ExCELS.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Post secondary and CRCR certification preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years experience in professional revenue cycle with a large multi-specialty group practice or health system.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Excellent computer skills, to include word processing, spreadsheet and database management. Ability to work under intense pressure and adaptable to change. Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness are essential.
