Scheduler II - Main Precision Medicine Admin - Full Time - Days

Job Description

This position manages scheduling for two specialized clinics and requires someone who is dependable, detail oriented, and comfortable shifting between workflows throughout the day. The scheduler coordinates new and follow up appointments, reviews referrals for accuracy, communicates with patients by phone and portal, and works closely with genetic counselors, APPs, and clinical staff to ensure the right patient is in the right appointment at the right time.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include

Scheduling new and follow up visits for high risk and genetic counseling patient

Reviewing referrals for completeness and accuracy

Communicating clearly and compassionately with patient

Managing appointment changes and problem solving barriers to care

Collaborating with clinical staff to maintain smooth daily clinic flow

Maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic health record

Supporting a high standard of patient experience



This role is ideal for someone who is organized, adaptable, calm under pressure, and motivated by meaningful work. Our patients are not routine. They are brave, anxious, hopeful, and trusting us with big moments. The scheduler is often their first voice in the clinic, and that voice matters.



Clinical hours are 7:30 to 4:00 with arrival by 7:15 to open the clinic. This is a role for someone who shows up, follows through, and takes pride in helping a complex program run beautifully.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree or Medical Secretary Certification preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2 years medical office experience and 1-year prior scheduling experience required. Administrative or secretarial experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: copier, fax, telephone system, postage equipment, and computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel). Excellent organization and communication skills required. Must be able to multi-task and maintain confidentiality.
