Sr Telecom Engineer - IT Infrastructure - CBO - Full-Time - Days

Job Description

The Senior Telecom Engineer is the third tier of support personnel responsible for the design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, operations, and optimization of the TCH Telecom Systems and corresponding Infrastructure. This individual will respond to and resolve any Telecom & Voice related issues in a timely manner. They are also responsible for mentoring personnel and ensuring all maintenance and support is being performed adequately by all engineers and analysts. They will report all status and health of the Telecom Systems to the Director, Infrastructure Services on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, manage, and maintain TCH's large scale voice Infrastructure.
  • Experience with Cisco Voice platforms: Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity and (UCCX) Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, WebEx Contact Center
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and updates of voice infrastructure.
  • Manage, configure, troubleshoot and assure service supporting all aspects of a Cisco voice. Must be organized, document oriented, possess skills in Visio diagramming, and understand WAN principals.
  • Develop technical policy and work instructions and reporting in support of an Enterprise IP telephony network.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to junior -or- Senior team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems utilizing expert knowledge of SIP signaling and call-flows.
  • Troubleshoot remote site registration, signaling and media problems.
  • Configure route plans, route lists, device profiles, calling search spaces, and route partitions. Validate change requests and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage troubleshoot and configure Cisco Unity Connection features, subscribers, call handlers and call routing rules.
  • Provide technical resource services for Information Technology network and voice projects.
  • Create and update Cisco UCCX scripts.
  • Complete various work orders for Telecom services.
  • Manage troubleshoot and configure Cisco Voice Gateways including CUBEs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director, Infrastructure Services.
  • Positive Financial impact by assisting with defining and managing annual Capital and OpX budgets including 3 to 5 year roadmap spends. Assist in cost containment and identifying lower costs solutions.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:



EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience



YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8 year's minimum experience in a multi-site network environment



REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Should present well-defined leadership qualities; the ability to be tactful, exercise magnanimity amongst the team and practice openness to other's ideas and culture.
  • Possess good written and verbal skills needed to present to all demographics at the hospital, and across all mediums.
  • Ability to design repeatable, reliable, and scalable network architectures with fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery.
  • The candidate must have the technical skills and integrity to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Experience supporting Large Scale Cisco Network environments with working knowledge of Call Manager, UCCX, Expressway, CER, CUIC, Unity
  • Knowledge in Voice Technologies (POTS, Voice Gateways, VoIP, SIP Trunking, SBC's/CUBES)
  • Knowledge of telecom circuit ordering, installation and troubleshooting
  • Detailed knowledge of internal voice / data wiring.
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, provide strong team leadership, and work effectively as a team player
  • Ability to be highly organized with a demonstrated aptitude to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, manage several broad-scope projects at one time, and utilize time effectively for staff and self.

  • Team player mentality and willingness to share knowledge with other team members.
  • Rotational on-call duties to respond to high incidents.


LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Cisco CCNA/CCST//CCNP/CCDP or other Cisco Professional-level certifications are preferred. CCIE a bonus.
  • Other relevant Industry Level certifications are a bonus. (WEBEX, CompTia Network+,).
