Job Description
inspects, installs and maintains piping, fittings, fixtures, and related equipment of the potable and non-potable water, medical gases, steam and drainage systems in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
Performs regular and emergency repairs to piping systems, repairs or replaces damaged components. Opens clogged drains and vents Uses standard plumbing and piping equipment
Performs preventative maintenance and testing on piping systems and fixtures for all steam, hot and cold water, compressed air, medical gases vacuum and backflow preventors.
Prevents defective pipe by cutting, bending, threading and assembling pipe; solders or caulks pipe joints, inspects connections and components for leaks. Replaces or installs piping insulation.
Maintains appropriate documentation of equipment maintenance and reports systems conditions, time and materials expended and troubleshooting methods. Detects and reports any unusual conditions to immediate supervisor.
Assists other maintenance employees in event of emergencies Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3 years / Training / Schooling
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. three years experience in healthcare. Ability to use plumbing drawings, schematics, control diagrams, and vendor manuals.
2. Must be able to read and understand building system drawings, schematics and manufacturer's manuals. Must be familiar with applicable codes.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
City of Jurisdiction Journeyman Plumber license, Certification in Repair and Testing of backflow preventors, Certification in testing and repair of fire sprinkler systems, Certification in Haz Mat required and works weekends shifts and holidays as required.
